These lyrics originally came to me years ago on Bodmin Moor when I lived in Cornwall and I was wandering around some standing stones called the ‘Hurlers’.

I remembered the lines one day when I had the odd sensation of walking on the chalky downs on Butser Hill and there was a vibration under my feet as I walked, an echo. It made me think of our ancestors and that their steps are before us and that is comforting and powerful, not to be feared and that we aren’t really ever alone ‘Don’t need to feel that you are on your own you’re not alone’.

There are some special places on earth where we can connect like this, where there is less noise, ancient lands. I also read about the Sami tribes relationship to the underworld where they believe their ancestors are mirrored underneath them as they walk, almost like the upside down world in the ‘Stranger Things’ TV show.
